I can't speak from experience, but I believe Ervin Somogyi says he shoots for 35 grams.

I usually use rosewood and mine end up weighing in the 19-24 gram range. From what I have seen and read that is on the low range.

In general, does increasing the mass cause a pronounced change in the ability of the top to move with sound vibration? (Don't know if I asked that in an understandable way). Can you explain the relationship between mass (referring to both weight and size) of the bridge and movement of the soundboard?
