| Post subject: | How long do you let your wood stabilize at 40% humidity? |
I didnt get my top wood or bracing wood until much later than expected. I was planning on bracing my top next week, but I want to let everything sit in my humidity controlled shop for longer than that (the wood just came in yesterday). Whats the minimum time that you guys would feel comfortable with before working with this wood. Im feeling like 1.5-2 weeks should be enough (i usually let it sit for around a month), but I want some feedback from some more experienced builders. |

If it's dry and just needs to acclimate, let it sit a day or two, join it, sand to .010" over final thickness (or whatever extra you need to level the rosette), and it should be fine in another few days or less. Again, that's if it's dry to begin with. |

Yes, thin wood (Top, Sides, Back) react pretty quickly to changes in Humidity. I've had some posted that curled up alarmingly when the package was opened, then straighten out again within a few hours. One day or so and it's fine to work on. |
