One thing you have to do if you ever get a K40 type laser (for those who have them):

Cut a rectangle or square on the laser. Take a square and measure the angle to make sure right angles are 90 degrees. I found that out of the box, a lot of these lasers have misaligned rails, meaning when the laser is trying to cut a square or any other shape the cross carriage moves off at an angle rather than 90 degrees. So when you cut a circle you can't fit the circle back into the hole if you flip it over, or if you turn it to some other orientation.

If the square is not square take a rubber mallet and hit one end of the cross bar to correct it until it's square.

I found this part out because I kept wondering why the laser couldn't cut a right angle and why perfectly symmetrical shapes would not fit into the material it was cut out of when I flip it over. It's because when the rail isn't square it won't cut accurate shape. In my case the other end was off by as much as 4-5mm. When I hammered it back into position everything is fixed.
