Really all he wants is a new saddle and strings. Is there any way to fix the caved in top without going crazy? BTW, it's a Yamaha G-60A. Attachment: 20190711_135456[1].jpg

"Really all he wants is a new saddle and strings. Is there any way to fix the caved in top without going crazy? BTW, it's a Yamaha G-60A." Don't put steel strings on it. You could probably "sister" the lower harmonic bar with one that is radiused to push the top up in the center. It shouldn't hurt the sound too much, and if these guitars ever become wildly collectable (doubtful) it would be reversible (if you use HHG). |

I didn't do anything to the braces and it plays pretty good in the first positions. I know this guy won't be going past the first fret ever so new saddle and strings. I'll try to make a new video tomorrow with me playing it but for now I have this video of the finished work. Honestly learning to string this was a challenge but I think I did OK. this is a classical so the neck angle will be different than a steel string guitar. Also action should be a touch higher. |
