It was not me who purchased at auction Duane Allmans gold top for 1.25 million, this past week.
This was the guitar he played when Layla was recorded.
I quit bidding at $94....
Most of you have likely heard this anecdote, Duane was asked, during an interview, which part of the music was his, the reply when something like “ that’s easy I’m playing the Gibson, Eric’s playing the Fender.”
Always thought that to be a little humorous.
