Recently completed this GA sized acoustic. Body is curly English walnut with figure that ripples and dances in the sunlight. Very pretty wood, indeed. Top is Sitka spruce, neck is black walnut, fretboard and bridge are Indian ebony. Scale length is 25 1/4” and it’s fitted with Schertler open back tuners and a surface mount pickup from JJB Electronics.

Very nice, indeed. I'm surprised I don't see more people using JJB pickups. Congrats.

Utterly gorgeous! So neat and clean. Guitars don't need bling, they need to be testaments to care, like this one. What a beautiful thing. OP needs to be immensely satisfied with this work of art. Maybe, someday, one of mine will look that carefully made. Envy!

Nicely done

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

The shot over the bridge to the soundhole is beautiful. Your work is very clean and your desing is excellent

Good Job! Nice figure in that B&S. I've used JJB pickups and like them...

Yeah unique bridge design for sure. Lovely walnut too. What did you finish with?

I'm also a big fan of JJB.

Many thanks to all for the kind words.

Finish is ZPoxy grain fill, two or three coats of super blonde shellac, followed by a dozen or so coats of EM6000.
