I have decided to get a bit more commercial and begin selling instruments other than my own. Because I can at this location and I am tired of sending people across town to the other store. There is definitely a space for a true "guitar shop" here as everyone else is a music store.

Along those lines I am looking for a copy of a good commission sales agreement to use for selling instruments on behalf of someone. I can change the details as needed. Trying to save a days search through dusty boxes to find one from back when I tried to sell that way....

Also looking for a source for some type of case tags. Ones that could be used to mark cases for sale in inventory as well as those belonging to repairs. Two part would be great....

Brian—

On the second request, do an internet search for “two part repair tag.” There are a number of options, many of which have strings for tying around case handles.

Are you looking for guitars from OLF members?

That would be great for the members who have not made a lot
of guitars or are not welcomed by the big dealers.

Have available product info with pics.

guitars can stay with the maker-you show the pics & if one is ordered
you have the maker ship it.

Make sure you have insurance for any instruments that you
take in for sale & are on your property.

IF PLAYERS TRY THEM AT YOUR LOCATION YOUR RESPONSABLE
FOR SCRATCHS-etc....

Mike

No, sorry. Bringing in some lines to fill the area below where my guitars start. Tired of sending so many people across town to the Chain store.....

Brian I used to sell other folks instruments, and commission sales of luthier instruments in LA. You may want to hire a lawyer, for a correct legal wording , and find out what the laws are in your state . They vary. Have your clients sign the agreement and the agreed upon price and commission,

Best of luck in your new venture Brian.

Ah... I didn't realize this varied by state.

By cooperating and signing an agreement on price commission etc , you can avoid legal pitfalls down the road especially on commissions. In ca . I had to sometimes keep unsold instruments for over 6 mo, The owners were called and never picked up their instruments , so I was stuck with unsold inventory ,or their commissions would have to be mailed. to a new adr etc.
