Never seen a planer quite like that before, can it actually do thin tops as well?

I am not sure as we didn't try to put a top through it.

They're called super surfacers.

Back in the 80's Fine Woodworking (when it was printed in B&W & good) reviewed smaller machines by Hitachi & Makita.

The bread slicer was really cool too though I can get more then 4 per inch on my resaw, but still in a factory environment you could really process some wood with that thing.

Like the idea of putting my hard tack bread through the slicer robbie vy cool. Oh wait . I do have a laguna 20 in bs
