Hi Everyone,

I've sprayed on clear lacquer sanding sealer onto my acoustic, and while level sanding, I seemed to have sanded through a few spots.
As you can see from the pictures, they appear lighter than the rest of the guitar, so I'm wondering what my next steps should be? There are no more high spots anywhere, do I need to continue adding sanding sealer to make the color uniform, or will the final lacquer coats blend everything together?

I am using stewmac clear gloss lacquer and sanding sealer.

It would be safer to add some sanding sealer in those areas where it is missing. Most sealers add a little bit of opacity to a finish (one reason I don't like them) so you - may - wind up with a slightly mottled finish if you top coat areas with and without sealer. Then again it may not be noticable.

yes, you need to recoat to make sure you have proper coverage so the sealer can do it's job...as a note I've never found a good reason to level sand sealer...just knock down any furballs and such...you really don't have the surface thickness to effectively level it, that comes later with a few layers of top coat

For sealer to seal the surface must be covered.....
