I just ordered a bunch of forms and a fox style bender with cutaway attachment. This is one sweet set up. John's customer service is top notch and gave me some great advice on misc details about bending. |

Double down on that! A long time ago, that was a big investment for me, but I haven't regretted it for a single second. Going to the heat blanket/fox bender from an open form heated up with a blowtorch from inside (yep, really) was nothing short of a miracle. John's customer service and overall passion for helping luthiers is top shelf for sure! |

I have one too - bought it 8 or 9 years ago, it has probably bent 15 sets of sides. I got a couple of molds from John when I bought it but since then I've made my own. When I start a new build I transfer the shape to MDF and cut it out. The outie becomes the building mold, the innie becomes the bending form. |

I have both the bender and the binding jig. At the time I bought them, building them myself was beyond my abilities, and getting them really improved my work. In addition to reading John's comments here (which I often copy into my "keeper" file), I frequently watch his videos on Youtube. Thanks, John! |

One more good word for John's benders & molds. I have Blues Creek benders for both ukulele and guitar along with many molds and the cutaway attachment. Over 300 sets of sides bent and John has been a great source of advice for learning how to bend specific species of wood. I only wish that I would have called him first before I toasted my first set of Brazilian eons ago! Mike Franks http://www.mjfranksguitars.com |

Don't forget the "Heating Blanket Timer & Controller " when I picked up a heating blanket and slates from John his wife suggested the timer and controller I hesitated Brenda looked at my wife and said if there's any chance he's forgetful he needs one so your house doesn't burn down. Sandy said we defiantly need one. Comes in handy around the Dave Cave, any thing that gets hot goes through it. |
