Looking forward to seeing the plate shaping process. I have collected most of the bits for an archtop, but have been reluctant to jump in.

If you are just doing it for fun, no problem. If you are hoping to get enough views to get a little bit of money out of the series, I would suggest reshooting them. Ditto if it is intended as marketing for new commissions. The vertical format will make most viewers dismiss the series offhand.

I have no interest in getting any money-you can tell by the fact that I have built guitars for 45 years.....

I am also not doing it to attract commissions...

I shot those 2 myself- there are others that a friend of mine took that are better

I don't do it for fun (it's not) to me this stuff is a serious as a heart attack!

I do it just so other people can see how I do it and spread my knowledge/techniques- sort of like the way people post things on this forum.

That band saw is amazing! I can't believe that it cut that fast. My cheap 10" Jet has a hard time even cutting ribs! For violins!

Exactly.... anything guitar related (under 3 feet) works with the garage door closed anything longer an I have to open the door.

I can get a perfect glue joint on a piece 8 feet long... It has a 7' bed.

No oil drippers, just ports that occasionally need a few drops of all. I keep a little piece of felt in them to keep out the dust.

I have been roughing in with a pin router or router sled for the ledges and a die grinder and flap sander for rough contours. I am anxious to see you use that Lancelot!

What a mess! Tried various ideas for the pin router and die grinder but none really optimal. I did it outdoors when possible. Ever figure out any form of dust collection that actually works Brad?

I am liking laminate plates more and more lately.
