I’m about to start a batch of support blocks for florentine cutaways, and wonder how you go about the process?

I put the square block blank into my Stew-Mac vise and plane it as close to shape as I can with a block plane or rasp, then true up the surfaces by sanding them against the actual cutaway surfaces with adhesive sandpaper. It works, but it’s time-consuming.

I’m wondering if there is a more efficient method?
