Hey guys, I'm getting ready to bend some sides but the paper I bought to wrap them in is pink. Does anyone know if the dye in the paper will leach into the wood? Thanks, Greg.

It might be hard to know for sure, I would test it on a piece of scrap maple or something. What are the sides?

Just get the brown wrapping paper in a roll from an office supply. It hasn't stained any of my bends and soaks up H2O or windex great.

The sides are black walnut and a set of maple. I hate to waste a whole roll of paper but the sides are way more expensive. I think I'll try some maple binding strips and if I can detect the slightest leaching I'll get the brown paper. Thanks for the feedback guys. Greg.

I use what I think is drywall tape/paper. Conveniently cut to a 6” width to match the slats.

I would just take a piece of the paper you have and boil it in a pot and see if the water colors...

I use parchment paper from the baking section of the grocery store.
Takes heat well, no staining and cheap

Be careful of baking parchment paper. Some of that stuff is loaded with silicone.

Thanks for the heads up, just checked the 2 different brands I have, and both say no additives.
Looks like the silicon types are for multiple use.

I've even cut brown paper bags apart, they work too.

I stopped using kraft paper as the acid can do strange things. Un treated butchers paper or sketch paper from Michael's is better
