I'd say that was spectacularly successful.
P.S. Didn't know Groots were local down under.

This Classical build uses mainly Tasmanian timbers. Nice to be able to use local timbers in a lockdown! Blackheart Sassafras back and sides, King Billy Soundboard, Tiger Myrtle Fretboard, bridge and armrest, Fijian Mahogany neck (nearly local!). It is lightly fan braced in a Hauseresque style. The rosette was a neighbours tree that came down a couple of years ago. I think it was a Casuarina of some type Nicely spalted now. Martin that is very fine. You got that inlay in very neatly. And that back is extremely flash. How did the KB pine work out for the top? Did you measure the properties to decide on thickness? Dave |

I compared it to some Engelmann Spruce and some Western Red Cedar I have and it was pretty much right in between. Stiff, light and good long resonance. I'd say the final outcome is a little warmer than my Spruce topped classicals but brighter than a cedar one. Martin |
