I'm doing a crack repair on a '90s kamaka which I think is nitro. Using CA like normal, but when I go to scrape it I noticed some of the areas around and under where I put the ca are gummy. Did not notice any gumminess before I started. I did use Napa and a toothbrush to clean out the area as I was initially super gluing slivers in the crack area. Could that have caused the gumminess? What to do?

How old is your CA? Over time it absorbs water and gets thick. That's why I buy new bottles every year, and toss the old ones. Fresh glue is a MUST, no matter what type.

I just started using Gluboost accelerator. I do like the performance, but it can temporarily soften old nitrocellulose lacquer. In my experience, the lacquer will harden back up after a few hours.
My old standby accelerator is Insta Set in a squirt bottle. It does not soften lacquer, but it will cause some super glues to blush (turn white or milky).

So I scraped off most of the gummy and let the area harden. Then I put some new Gluboost fill n finish on and let it dry overnight. Most of it is hard but the area that was gummy, the ca did not harden! Hmm....
