This is a 90’s Cedar topped Takamine Garth Brooks model with a lifting bridge among other things. Couple of small top cracks you can see in the photos as well. Satin finish. Question, were these bridges super glued to the finish? I have not started anything on this yet, it was dry and is rehydrating. Just wanted to know if anyone here had experience with lifting bridges on this particular Cedar topped model. It of course has bolts as well and what looks like a large masonite bridge plate which is in good shape. Are the bolts tight? I suspect all will come clear once the strings are off (love this little feature of pinless bridges) and the bolts are either the only attachment for the bridge or backup for glue. I built one with a pinless bridge and I glued that bridge on, no bolts. That's a really pretty soundboard, too. Nice color, nice silking, nice grain. |
