This 00.14.25 is Sitka over EIR. It has dyed turquoise purflings, ebony bindings, gotoh 510 tuners, and SS frets, etc. The neck is finished with OSMO satin.

I’ve been giving project monogamy a try. Gotta say, I’m kinda liking it.

That’s really lovely, Michael.

I hear you about project monogamy. I need to move that way too for a while. ;)

WOW! I hesitate to put marker dots on.

How many coats of Osmo? My Padauk one is way too porous for glitz, but maple or something might. I wiped mine off with a rag after wiping on.

Very nicely done.

By monogamy do you mean one at a time? I've s 3 at a ti!e, and never do them all!

I have been married 44 years too.

“WOW! I hesitate to put marker dots on.”

Why the marker dot reluctance?

“How many coats of Osmo? My Padauk one is way too porous for glitz, but maple or something might. I wiped mine off with a rag after wiping on.”

I followed the “House Guitar video” exactly, with the exception of using satin instead of matte.

“By monogamy do you mean one at a time? I've s 3 at a ti!e, and never do them all!”

Yes, one at a time. I normally have 3-4 on the go.

“I have been married 44 years too.”

Nice one!

I like the way you radius the body edges. I have been thinking of doing that. Any special techniques you would care to share?

I’m just using paper to do it. I start with P150, followed by P240, then P320.

That's a beauty alright! Like the inlay work all around, the finish is superb.

And the pictures are as well done as the guitar.

Really nice work.

Lucky client, nice one!

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

Yup, this instrument is number 49. That being counted since my old database blew up. I think I’d built 10-12 instruments before it blew. I really can’t remember.

Best,

Phew! I don't have to live up to that bar for a long long time. I mean, this is why people should by custom guitars by great makers such as yourself. Gives me something to look forward to!

Absolutely beautiful. I love the use of color in the purfling, and really like the end graft. Did you use Enduro-Var on this?

Thanks brother! I should check in here more often! It's great to see you're rockin' it as usual : )

I finished up a few weeks ago. Another great season under the belt. I had one with the finish kicking in the closet to come home to and it has found it's home in Victoria. I just started (another!) one for me. I'm keeping this one!!! lol. A stunning Curly Claro Walnut set I got off Lance years ago. I'll try and get some pics up here. The good wood is getting more difficult to come by. I'm pretty grateful for my earlier hoarding habits. haha

Cheers!
