Hi, I did a test to prebend the extra bindings I had. I used a heat gun and the horns seems like the most tricky to do as it has the tightest curve on the whole body. Is there an indication if I should stop applying heat?

Plastic bindings looks like, that's what I do. Doesn't take much heat!

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

Just be careful if you are using titebond original, it does not take much heat to release it and you really don't want to accidentally unglue something.

But plastic binding will pre bend rather easily with very little heat.
