I’ve been building guitars for over twenty years. Several years ago I built an OM out of quilted mahogany from “the tree”. It was a set I had purchased from RC Tonewoods. Great sounding guitar, the densest mahogany I’ve ever worked with. I now have a potential customer who would like a guitar made from “the tree”. There’s a website thetreeguitarsets.com that is selling sets supposedly from “the tree”. They’re gorgeous but are they for real? Does anyone know anything about this guy? |

You might also check with Allied. Pretty sure they have some. |

FYI, Not all of the Tree sets are quilted. Many are actually QS sets. Jay Howlett, username Blablawoofwoof is the main purveyor of Tree sets. I don’t know who is running that site but Jay is a trustworthy guy to deal with. He has supplied Allied, LMI, StewMac, Breedlove, Taylor and many individual luthiers. |
