Post subject:  Cocobolo purfling source?

Anyone know of a source for Cocobolo purfling strips, .020"-.030" thickness? I've looked around online, checked Gurian and all my usual tonewood suppliers, but haven't had any luck finding anyone who carries it.

I have some offcuts I can run through the drum sander if it comes down to it, but I only need 10-15 strips max...for all the work that entails, I'd rather just buy it if it's commercially available somewhere. If not, I guess I'll bite the bullet and ruin a roll of sandpaper making up a batch.

TIA!

veneersupplies.com has cocobolo veneers, but you have to buy a fairly large quantity.

You might be better off looking for dyed veneer with similar color. Cocobolo bleeds like crazy, so it will be tough to avoid staining neighboring strips.

If you don't mind using BRW and cutting them from veneer I probably have an extra piece or two.

Clay, that BRW looks red enough to do the trick. I'll PM you.

Thanks!
