Will that just look terrible? I like Ivoroid a lot and have never used ABS before but dang is it very white. This guitar will be finished in a dark shellac so I wonder if that would even it out?

Anyone know what Martin does on their D-45's for example? The ones that use Ivoroid, do they use very thin Ivoroid purfling to get that black/white lines? Fiber perhaps?

If so where would I even get something like that?

Cheers

Cabinet shops often carry thin edgebanding in various shades of white which may be a good match to ivoroid bindings. Edgeco also sells rolls which would furnish a lifetime supply:

Typing ivory into the search header brings up 6 different color variations 15/16ths inch wide X .018 inches thick.
A cabinet shop should sell you 10-12 feet for a few bucks (some might even give it away).

That's a good source Clay. I have however gotten lazy in my years and like to buy already cut :)

And actually I have miles of black and white plastic purfs.
