I’m looking for inlay sources similar to what is in the image below. I’ve looked at knife scales… are there other sources that come to mind? I’m open to all colors.

I’ve been invited to exhibit in a local guitar festival in May and need to start building some booth-bait -

Thanks, M

Check the MOP site in Australia. They have a lot of reconstituted stone. Toonce's has a bunch of dyed wood for sale right now in the OLF classifieds. If you really want to get crazy go to Instagram and look up the following:
https://www.instagram.com/greenberg_woods/
https://www.instagram.com/kiranskoa/

And not a knife maker but sells a a lot of craft and Tonewood.
https://www.instagram.com/c.jacob.woods/

Hunt up the knife makers . There are a ton on Instagram. Lots of incredible woods. I found out about a lot of species thru knife makers as they don't have the same constraints we have as luthiers. A lot of wood is stabilized which could be really good for inlay

I'm not sure you are looking for natural materials but I have been looking for different ideas to do some "shark fin" fret markers and just ran across this:

http://walopus.com/

They make Drum Wrap, it is about the thickness of a credit card and is suppose to be pretty tough.
Lots of crazy patterns and some great 3d effects. I am going to order some and experiment with it.

Cheers,
Bob

You may alway consider pen blanks. I see lots of cool Color’s every time I’m at Lee Valley. You’re doing La Conner then?

Definitely some heavy hitters attending! You showed at the Vancouver festival this year - How’d that go?

Masecraft. I order the thinnest recon stone, then thin it more to work for inlay. Lots of different material as well.
