Well, I found a new and exciting way to install a rosette!

1- clean out the glue applicator nose
2- route a perfect channel for the rosette in the soundboard
3- apply a generous amount of tight bond in the channels (and by generous I mean forget to screw the top on the bottle from step 1)
4- squeegee copious amounts of tight bond over the channels and allow wood to swell
5- feverishly press / tap / pound the rosette into the channels as the other channels begin to dry
6- wait until morning to sand off the layer of glue covering the surface

You’re welcome:)

Been there. That used to be SOP, without the glue spill. Switched to CA and have never looked back. I appreciate the instant access of being able to rosette, thickness, and brace a top within an hour or so rather than having to wait overnight for the rosette to dry…

Yea I have used both… although I’m fairly confident at sealing the channels ca always scares me some.
I really do like it on the bindings

I've been building rosettes in place for some time now. You have to make your own, and it takes longer, but it pretty well gets around the issue of glue making the wood swell. I prefer to make my own rosettes anyway: it's part of the 'artistic' side of guitar making, and it makes little sense to assign the fun to somebody else.

I glue wood rosettes in with Duco. No swelling, and the glue is invisible under finish.
