I always have to google before I buy. The woodwork specialty store's glue around here is usually over a year old, and I won't buy it. Here is a link and decoder ring: SOURCE http://www.titebond.com/resources/use/glues How Do I Read The Lot Numbers? Current format for product made after 1/1/2019: Ayymmddbbb The first letter is A for made in America, the first two digits after the A is the last two digits of the year of manufacture, the fourth and fifth digits represent the month, the sixth and seventh digits represent the day of the month and the last three digits represent the batch number for that day. Example: A190615023 – This material was manufactured on June 15, 2019 The new code is: AYYMMDDNNN where: A=made in America YY=year manufactured (i.e., 19=2019) MM=month of manufacture (i.e. 01=January) DD=day of the month manufactured (i.e. 15=15th) NNN=a number indicating the batch ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Another Recent Example: A220715166 2022 is July 15 TITEBOND Produt Shelf Life http://www.titebond.com/App_Static/Lite ... THAT is good information, Karl. I like fresh glue, so I usually date my bottle with the day I purchased it. When it's a year old - in the trash. |

Karl thanks much man I always have to Google too to get the "decoder ring"  . That usually leads to the same discovery by us that much of the stuff on the shelves is already out of date.Great post, just the kind of thing that has lots of value to lots of folks. Thank you!! |

I noticed their timeline for Titebond original is 24 mos. Like Chris, I put the date I bought it on the bottle with a sharpie. However, if it’s been a year it gets relegated to jigs and fixtures vs thrown out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

There's rules against making things too easy on the customers. Besides which, customers might refuse to buy stuff that's aged-out. Can't have that. |
