Have tried to attach photos, but did not work. I am thinking my files are too big, but cannot find any information on that. Any help? Thanks. |

Hi Grant, Uploading photos to the site using a browser and the attachment feature of the site itself is indeed a little tricky. The size of the file in kb is what matters. It’s limited to I think 200. Opening the images in any picture editor and resizing them to a smaller size is the easiest way to get them below 200kb. You will have to experiment with one of your source photos to see exactly how small you need to make it in order to get below the 200kb threshold. Another option is to use the phone app Tapatalk. Tapatalk is a forum navigation app and lets you upload your images to their server instead of to the OLF directly. The app then places a link in your post to the image hosted on the Tapatalk server. It sounds more difficult than it is. A third option is to host your images on a cloud drive or image sharing site like OneDrive, Google Drive, etc… and place links to the images in your post rather than upload to the OLF directly. There are pluses and minuses to each of these approaches. The biggest minus for using Tapatalk or external image hosting is if the links are broken in the future the post is less useful. For those of us that spend a lot of time (too much time?) searching old posts, it’s easy to see how having the images uploaded to the OLF directly is advantageous because those posts are intact. Meanwhile posts that used services like photo bucket, etc… in the past have broken links and the images are lost. Good luck and let us know how it goes. FWIW, here is a picture from my phone posted via Tapatalk. If you hover the image in the browser you’ll see it’s just a link to the image hosted by Tapatalk. That’s my puppy watching my son swim at the lake. Brad Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
