I was thinking of blowing up a balloon but then wondered if the Nitro would melt and pop it. I've seen some photo's in the past of covers and wondered, how the hell did they do that? It's been over a decade since I last shot Nitro on a guitar. I used to just stuff rags in it but would always get some interior overspray under and around the sound hole. No big deal really but I though I'd try and keep this one clean. Regards. |

When I spray I use the covers off of plastic containers that are a bit larger than the sound hole. A sponge for washing cars holds the lip of the cover up against the underside of the top and keeps overspray out of the guitar. |

I’ve used a balloon, it works fine. I prefer to use a piece of cardboard with the balloon behind it holding it in place. |

Similar to above, I use a plastic takeout lid or a paper plate right side up. They are pushed up into place with a balloon, although I like the sponge idea! Main thing for me is keeping the edge of the sound hole clear. Spraying UV poly it will build like crazy on any edge. Using the lid / plate keeps it clear. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

A block of foam rubber and either a circle of heavy cardboard or an empty string package. |

I stuff the body with a few handfuls of shop towels. Admittedly, I do need a better system... |

I use a small paper plate with a ballon behind it. I cut a 1/2" dia. hole in the center of the paper plate to poke the end of the ballon through so I can blow it up when it is inside the sound hole. |

Big wad of newspaper always worked for me. It costs nothing, and is easy to insert and remove. |

I blow up a balloon in the soundhole and then bridge the soundhole with a tongue depressor to hold the ballon down so the spray will get the edge of the soundhole. I’ve never sprayed one with nitro, so I can’t promise anything on that. It works fine with EM6000. |
