I haven't done that one before, but there's not enough room to list all my mistakes.

Early on in my building, when this happened I tried filling the holes with ebony dust and epoxy, but the fill was too glossy. Instead, I inlayed ebony strips between the frets, just wide enough to cover the holes. They were indetectible.

I haven't repeated this problem with the classicals I build now, but I did make an 11-fret neck.

I feel your pain, did that on a mandolin. After lots of expletives I just routed out the piece ebony with the wrong dots between the frets and inlayed a new flat piece then drilled for dots in the correct location. A bit of a PITA but not the hardest thing I've had to fix. Now I take a white pencil and mark the fret numbers on the fret board before I start inlaying anything including side dots.

I was installing side marker dots working my way up the fretboard starting at the nut. Right after installing my double side dot markers at the 12th fret I realized I had put them at the 9th fret. The 9th fret was marked by two inlays in the fretboard so I spaced out and thought I was at the 12th fret. Argh. That fretboard was bound with curly koa so no way to fix it invisibly like you can do with ebony. So, that guitar has three side marker dots at the 12th fret.

I thought I'd try the easy way out first. It's close but the dust and black CA is probably not going to cut it. Wood inlay is probably a better fix any way.

I had to go to the "before" picture just to make sure.
From where I'm setting it looks 98%. Cut a grain line or two.....

I know a guy who this happened to once. I don't understand how a 14 fret can end up being a 12,13,14,15th lol

That repair probably doesn't look as bad as you think it does. Remember that there will be strings traversing the board and that will disguise the repair further. Put some oil on there and see how much it stands out. If you can't live with it, go ahead and put in some fret to fret patches.

Fret to fret patches will wear better and be indistinguishable from the rest of the board if well done. It looks like a "High End" guitar and might be worth the extra effort.
