My previous guitars have all been done with ABS binding and pfurlings from LMI. Now with their limited stock I'm forced to mix ABS and PVC if I want to continue my usual design. Any thoughts on mixing ABS and PVC? |

I have never tried it and I would be hesitant to say it would work. I have done a number of binding using ABS but have not tried mixing them. I know from working on plumbing it is a no-go to glue ABS and PVC and under code you must have mechanical connection. The joint will fail. Maybe someone here has experience with mixing the two but I wouldn't think they will stick together. Otherwise you might go with ABS and that wood-like fiber stuff that is dyed Cheers, Bob |

If you use CA then it would probably work. Test on scrap. Also, abrading the surfaces of the plastic with sandpaper will always help with mechanical adhesion. |

I’m guessing they would also age differently down the road, if that’s a concern, but don’t really know. |
