One thing that makes me nervous is a big router…. That said…. The luthier tools slot head jig is amazing! Just finished this non traditional headstock … notice it’s a mirror of the finger board extension (which is a mistake turned into a feature haha) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Cool. A Florentine cutaway would fit right in… |

I go with saws, chisels, planes, and files. They aren't scary. Your builds keep getting cooler. They are all different too. Nice. |

It’s funny I had a guy over to the shop over the weekend and I was telling him how scary really sharp chisels are haha…. Guess I have a tool phobia … I’ll just tally it up w all the others haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I think fear of routers is perfectly appropriate. Losing that fear increases your chances of getting hurt! The LuthierTool slotting jig is pretty cool. I do a lot of slot heads, and they go much faster and cleaner since I bought that jig. |

Was able to just remove the other side and flip it over to finish the job on the other side :/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I think your mistake ended up looking cool, and I always love seeing a 13-fret neck (did I count right?). I also use and like that Luthier tools jig. |

That slot head routing tool looks like a wonderful tool, but my arm can't reach that far into my jeans. Sigh. |

I have one of those tools. I bought it after making a few over the years out of wood. I finally sprung for the tool because I kept wearing the wooden ones (until I got the tool I had been using a pattern bit in the router—the idea of using a template guide on the router hadn’t occurred to me). The tool was expensive, but it was worth it—it’s easy to use and repeatable. Nice looking guitar. |
