Seems to me that a lot of this video is not at all unlike guitar building processes, but as I say totally off topic but cool just the same. Dave |

That was interesting, seeing the machinery used. Wouldn't OSHA have a heyday in that factory. But Japanese values and culture probably don't make an organization like that necessary. The final product looks a little like Japanese chisels. |

I worked in a forging shop for 20 years. There is really no comparison to a punch press, and 1,000 to 4,000 ton forging presses. But the ovens and all that stuff is similar. Luckily, I was in the tool room, and not on the floor. Dozens of those things make a lot of racket. Yes. Sometimes your dial indicator would jump with the cycles! Notice that they do seem to have quality control at every station. Sometimes every part. |
