I figure around 400 instruments is enough groundwork to treat myself to something a little fun. And if it happens to be very utilitarian to my shop needs, so much the better! I don’t usually name my guitars, but I dub this one ‘The Electrician’, ‘cause that’s what it’s paying for, lol. Still a fairly modest instrument overall, in keeping with the brand, but it was fun to really come to grips with why it’s called Brazilian Crackwood…

Beautiful Ed very nicely done. Have you ever tried Howard Feed-n-wax? If this were my guitar or brought to me by a customer I would condition that fret board and bridge with Howards. It looks dry from here and it also looks like the slight darkening would look great on this one. Your climate likes Howard's too since you have winters. I built my BRW personal guitar as number 15 and it's still doing great. You waited pretty long there for your's

Nice simple look. It looks like wood, and wood is the star. The thought of winter never crossed my mind with those photos. It won't look like that here for a couple months. Do the bushes stay green all year? |

We have winter here. A few weeks ago we were in single digit RH, but the laurels don”t care. You can have single digit RGH and sewage flowing through the workshop but the laurels just grow and grow… |

I'm making a few assumptions: the bridge, fb and headplate are brw... taking that into account, I rather prefer the supposed dry look, especially as to how the fb coloring flows into the headplate that has a flat sheen. in addition, said "dry" look goes well with the basic level of design of the instrument (which btw is very nice, and I really dig the way you did the grain on the center wedge) |
