I made a slot saw out of a jig saw blade. I may make a couple of different sizes, but this should work for this one. I trimmed the blade with a cutoff blade in an angle grinder. Made quick work of it. I split a maple scrap and squished the blade in between, and glued it. I thought I was going to have to make a slot for the blade, but it closed up easily. Looks great Hutch and your bridge plates will love you for it. 100 years from now some Luthier will open the case with one of your guitars in it after teleporting to work and see you used slotless pins and say to themselves this Luthier knew their stuff!! We had an 1867 Martin in the shop with slotless pins the bridge plate was like new. |
