Does anyone use it? I have different grits of this, but only 60 grit of the cloth backed stuff. I would like to use my 120 grit roll for sanding spruce.

this doesn't work the heat will allow the psa to let go. All drum sanders I ever saw have the spring tension unit to work with expansion. 120 is too fine and you will build up more heat. I used 60 and 80 on the drum sander before I went to wide belts

So, if o leave the backing paper on I should be good. This would just be for a finishing pass after my 60 grit hogs the wood close. I'll eventually get some more cloth backed paper, but I'm going to try this on my next guitar.

If the roll is wide enough you might be better off using it on a 1/4 or 1/2 sheet sander. Sanding spruce goes pretty quickly and the sanders are reasonably cheap.

I have a good ROS for doing it, so I really don't need to use my drum sander for finish sanding. It just seems like a good idea.
