This is a build question with some playing considerations:

The attached pdf shows two (Martin style) acoustic neck profiles; "Oval" and Modified Oval".
You can see that the Oval has straight FB sides and the Modified oval has a profiled FB edge.
They both present the player with the same thickness neck, the difference being the FB is slightly profiled, and an accompanying "faster taper" at the FB edge. Of course, the carving layout is different

Which do you (or your customers) prefer on a finished guitar?

There's no neck police. Do what you like. Just have some respect for the thickness of the binding if the neck is bound.

I always blend the fretboard into the neck profile. Players really like that, so do I.

As mentioned, watch out for the binding.

I always blend the fretboard with the neck profile and ease the edge of the fretboard. As a player I want it to feel like it’s all one piece.

I also blend it into the neck shaft.

Me, too.

I blend, too, but I don't remove that much fingerboard wood. Just a little.

Yup, here also.

I really dislike a lot of shoulder under my thumb so I blend it as much as I can without leaving an uncomfortable thin edge of fretboard.
