Hey folks,

In the last roundtable we talked about double sides, solid lining & vacuum bags. Here is a couple short videos showing making and then installing solid lining. Hope it’s useful.

Thank you, Brad. That makes perfect sense. I even thought I smelled the epoxy in the first video.

Cool, I use clamping cauls but otherwise pretty similar. I usually leave clamped for at least 12 hrs. Do you leave the vacuum pump running that long?

With the solid linings that is an extremely rigid rimset. I have noticed that while increased mass/stiffness definitely increases volume too much can affect tone in a negative way. Have you seen a similar correlation?

The pump I have uses a reservoir and kicks off once it pulls the vacuum. It cycles once every few hours. I typically leave it for 8 hours / overnight.

I haven’t noticed an issue with too much volume on the latest 00 builds, but it’s been awhile since I’ve built a dred so will report back.
