Background: I’ve been working for the last few years with Dave Farmer, also from the OLF, to design a system of templates and jigs for acoustic builders. You’ve seen some of these shared by me along the way in various threads.
We are planning to hold a product preview with a small set of builders. The goal is to get feedback and input from a diverse set of builders and use that input to improve the experience of using the products when they launch.
The preview will run from May 1 to Aug 1. We will work together to close the box on an acoustic body, sharing feedback along the way. It’s a collaborative and open process.
There are some requirements such as you’ll have to commit to completion of closing the box in 90 days, capture notes, images, etc… and share them in a bi-weekly zoom call. You will also need to provide the woods used, it doesn’t have to be braz over moon spruce. Sapele over grade B top is fine.
Participants will get a starter kit for a given instrument class (dred, OM or 00) and discounts on future products if you decide to continue building with the system.
