I'm looking for a set of African blackwood. A customer wants to order a
guitar identical to the guitar that I'd buiult for the trip to Africa with
Blackwood back and sides instead of the beautiful quilted Sapele.

Any direction would be greatly appreciated. I'd love to make the
purchase from an OLF sponsor if possible.

We're still waiting to hear back from a friend who is close to people at
Christie's concerning the possibility of an auction there for that original
guitar. Fretboard Journal just contacted us to do a story on it as well so it
will be nice to start with some press covering the story and origin of the
project.

Thanks,

Todd (@ Allied) has a nice looking set on his site. Check out his weekly specials.

I think LMI might have some too. Last time I looked they had some.

They aren't an OLF sponsor, but Gilmer Wood has some amazing sets not long ago.

I just bought this set from LMI about 8 months ago and they had a nice selection at the time.

Kevin,
It looks like Gilmer still has one set left. I have found their prices to be
exceptional for the quality of wood that you get. Some of the stuff that
they have is simply unreal. Even though their blackwood is expensive, I
would wager to guess than it is truly remarkable quality.

Here is a link to their back & side sets:
