So I tried repeating my test by just like above, not weighing my glue out and using a sizing.
This is what I got this time.

I had to thin ot the spruce scrap to even get to break as I was just lifting the work bench when it was about .18 thick. I thined it to .11, my first test spruce was in that range also.
My real point here is that it doesn't seem to as exact as we might like it to be and I had never heard of using a sizing before. I also have never had result like this. Which I attribute to the sizing.
