I know at one time there was talk of automating this process to make it easier for Luthiers to add their bio without taxing an administrator.

But until that happens, is it still possible to get new luthiers listed? We had a thread quite a few months back and honestly I don't remember if those got posted or not?

I always enjoy reading up on the guys posted. It's interesting to see what their day jobs are and how they got the "bug to build guitars".

Any idea who this budding young luthier is?

This pic was linked to last March. The thread in which it was listed had exactly one thousand page views. Did you miss it? I did.

Wasn't this young woman the daughter of Mr Allspruce Ron Steiger?

Bruce, we are always wanting to add to the bios section. It may take a while because the only time i go into the old section is for maintenance. But YES! By all means, send me your bios or post them here.

I just took for granted that the "thumbs up" was an indication they planned to attend Texas A&M University.....gig'em.

Hi Jeanne, have you considered posting a Luthier's Bios on the OLF?

Well, yes I have and would be happy to do so!

But, please let me ask this question: How secure is my bio?

As a friendly sort of teacher, I often get students who just "show-up" at my door, or when I had my tele in the book I'd get called on the weekend for chit-chats. Then there are some parents and students who "google" and "search" and the next thing know your your personal life becomes "the" topic the students talk about and question all through class.

If I know it is secure, than, yes, I will get something together.

Jeanne, I too have spent time in education. We have numerous teachers or former teachers on the OLF. You can be sure that everything you say using your whole name is available to the entire world. Maybe we should have a section for Luthiers who want only their first name published. Well then there are folks like Mario. Just about any OLFer would recognize that name and put Proulx with it.

I'd say if you want to remain an anonymous luthier, you shouldn't post a bio.

Jeanne, it's only a matter of revealing what you are comfortable with sharing, a little story of how you fell in love with guitars and what brought you to luthierie, no need for sensitive information, just a bit more so we know a bit more about our famous newbs!
