Well folks,

Steve Roberson of Colonial Tonewoods should be about to launch his all new website very soon and I for one can't wait

I have always received exceptional service from Steve. He can be relied upon to do what he can to see that his customers are happy. And if your ever after Adi, be it for tops or bracewood, Steve is no doubt the "Sultan of Spruce"

A while back, not long after the recent OLF swap meet, I received another parcel from Steve. When I open the box I was stunned by the beauty of the Bocote set he had sent along with all the other great stuff I ordered.

Whilst these images do not do this set justice, they do give some idea of the quality and figure.

I am really looking forward to building with this set, it taps like plate glass and will finish beautifully.

So just a reminder, especially to all those members of our group who live outside the USA. Colonial Tonewoods is a brilliant vendor, not just for quality of product and great service, but also for generosity and overall value for money.

Steve understands the challenges that international buyers face and values the trust shown by his customers who have sent their funds across the other side of the globe in search of quality tonewood, he has NEVER let me down, not once.

Cheers all and thanks once again Steve, much obliged.

Kim

Kim, that is some stellar bocote!

You have every right to be excited too!

So, Steve is the Sultan of zoot!

With a don and a sultan we can't go wrong!

Don't we have great sponsors here on the OLF?

Kim,
Awesome wood indeed! That will make one beautiful instrument. I haven't dealt a lot with Steve at Colonial, but what I have got from him is the best!

That is some serious zoot Kim! Beautiful!

Let me tell you, Steve has to be one of the nicest guys around. I recently had problems with my thickness sander and trashed a customer's adi top while sanding it. In a panic to stay on schedule I called Steve and told him what had happened and ordered another top. Steve had it to me in three days (counting the weekend) and he only charged me less than half what I paid for the first one. Talk about going the extra mile!Dave Rector38963.4035069444

Geez guys..I'm humbled. Thank you all the kind words.

Sultan of Spruce....."Here comes Steve, he's knows all the cords."

My website has a mind of its own. I should have everything finished by mid week.

Jeanne, your not wrong there. I live just south of the most isolated capitol city on the planet. When I first started looking into this craft I was very concerned about how I would manage to source my tonewood without getting ripped off or receiving rubbish.

Fortunately, between my discovering the OLF and finding that I live only 40 miles from another of the OLF's great vendors, Tim Spittle of Australian Tonewoods, my concern have proved unfounded. Sometimes it is great to be wrong
Kim! WOW!!!!

Hey Alain,

I like this set a lot and want to use all of it that I can. So I was thinking probably a dred.

I ask Steve to pick out a strongly contrasting but even grained Adi top for me, what he sent was superb and should compliment this set very nicely. I am thinking I will need to understate all other appointments as this set has enough impact on it's own.
Sultan of Spruce....."Here comes Steve, he's knows all the cords."

Steve
Hey Steve,

How about "Here comes Steve, he's knows all the BOARDS."
What will it be my good friend?
Hey Serge,

As I said above, I don't want to cut any of the set away it is just so perdy... I know, how about the worlds first big rectangular jumbo

Cheers all

Kim

How about a deep-bodied Bo Diddly guitar?

Actually, that wood would make a great jumbo (of the more curvy variety)!
