I had thought of that option Terry but I think Ive got the body jig sorted. Again its based on the pics in the LMI handbook and it simply bolts onto the same studs the neck jig bolts onto. Guitar is held in position by guides in waist area and an adjustable cradle that screwqs into strap ferrule hole of guitar. Should have it finished by tuesday hopefully and will post pics of finished product.

Cheers

Terry,

Looking at your pics Ive just noticed a chunk missing out of the side of your mortise template....looks like you pulled the router bit up through the template with the cutter still spinning just like I did!!kiwigeo38963.3919791667

Pics of the end result of a week of brain storming and problem solving. The clamping arrangement for the upper bout is a temporary arrangement and will be modified.

Martin,

Nice jig! Thanks for posting.

BTW, could you edit your post so your pictures line up vertically? Thanks.

Terry,

The end support mainly holds the heel end of the guitar hard against the top of the jig. The guitar can still move a bit due to the arch in the top so I adjust until everything is square (there are registration marks and lines all over the jig and on the template) and then insert a few wedges between the top and the face of the jig.

Ill post pics of the finished mortise once Ive cut same....busy dealing with the challenges of french polishing at present!
