We are getting some extra bags. How many I don't know, but it is possible to send you a few.
I thought they were going to be all 6 strings in one corrosive bag without the outside box. Can you confirm this?
Tracy
Me to, D'Addario already package full sets of strings in a "Corrosion Intercept Technology" plastic bag like so.

I would have thought if they are tooled up to package this way already, it would be easier and cheaper for them to supply the sets in these corrosion resistant bags without the outer box as shown in the image no?

Cheers

No...

They will come flat, and in special non corrossive bags. They are NOT packaged for retail sale (as in your picture).

We have been told that there will be some extra flat bags that we can repack orders in, but we don't have the specifics on how many of these we will get.

I have an endorsement deal with D'Addario. The bulk strings come in boxes. And in that box are six packages each containing 144 strings. They are not individually wrapped. The balls on them are also not color coded in this bulk form (or at least they didn't used to be). So Lance and Brock are going to have to count out 72 strings individually for each package and then my suggestion is that everybody is wearing surgical gloves (the acids on your hands breaks down the strings) when repackaging them for final distribution.

Lance - I suggest you use Ziploc 1 gallon freezer bags. They have to be strong enough that the ends don't poke out when you coil them up in the bags.

Ideally, if you had a vacuum sealer with heavy bags you could get most of the air out for better storage.

Another note - you'd be amazed at how much strings in bulk weigh. It can really raise the shipping costs.

As far as storage, they last pretty long in their original bags stored in their box under my bed - especially if you keep your hands off them. But as suggested here, people have used PVC tubing with a cover - that works well. As well as the plastic containers that window blinds come in.

Congratulations - my guitars go out of here wearing D'Addarios (or John Pearce if it is a baritone). I think they are fantastic strings.

Lance

Lance. I WILL order a half gross, but I'm expecting the sale of a mando on ebay at the minute to pad out my paypal account in 9 days time.

Could I be REALLY cheeky and ask for a, say, 3 day warning of the deadline?

If it happens before the mando is paid for then I'll bite the bullet, but I would PREFER to stall.

Ta!!
