Guys you will not believe this!!!

Last Night my Mrs phoned me white I was at the guitar building class to tell me that there was a message on the answering machine.

From none other than .........

Mr George Lowden!!!!!!!!

Someone had forwarded the text of some discussion or other on the web and he's invited me down to the factory (next week maybe) to have a lookaround and a chat about the truth of the history of the guitar companies.

To say this was a bolt from the blue doesn't come close to describing this!!! This is the equivelent of Ansell Adams calling up a guy who takes the odd pic to say come over & look at a few snaps I've taken!!!!!!!!!

Who knows, I may even let y'all know how it goes!!!!

Martin, if you're not aware, there is now an OLF LAW that stipulates that you MUST provide details of any event that you participate to in regards to lutherie and you MUST also show MANY pics of the event!

Congrats buddy, that is great news, i'm really happy for ya!

Wow, I can appreciate how neat this is, I got to spend a day at the feet of Ansel Adams back in '81. (and in his darkroom).

Good for you Martin, take a spy camera.

/\ Yeah, as if George would appreciate the whole of OLF to turn up at his small shop...

Martin, you MUST give us every little detail. Get your wife to come along and take loads of pics....in fact, hire a camera crew and film a documentary!!

You'll love every minute of it, take a note book and camera and record everything the man says. This is like a theoretical physicist getting to visit Albert Einstein. It's just not possible to meet a better and more knowledgable guy. The best guitar builder on the planet, possibly any planet!

I recently heard that God put in an order recently, he's THAT good...

Lowdens are very thin on the ground in my vicinity, and I was pretty stunned to see one being used for the Children's work at a Christian Festival in N.Ireland I went to recently.

I've yet to lay hands on one.

you really think that at the end of the tour he'll invite me into a glass elevator (called a Lowdenvator)and we'll shoot through the ceiling and he'll say "all this is yours"?

Naw, I didn't think so either!!!
