MAN!! I have had over 80 spam messages in the past 24 hours! Appearantly I need Viagra and computer software real bad and I just don't know it! I am thinking about selecting one of these fine people and just forwarding everything I get that is spam to them for a week or two. I don't really want to adjust the spam filters because I wouldn't know how to do it properly and I do note that occassionaly legitimate business related stuff (read orders) do sometimes come in labelled as spam.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated!

Thanks in advance

I thought spam was a type of "meat" product from the 60's

Stop giving out your email address. Don't buy or register for anything with your real address. Cook up an alternate for that.

That has saved me a ton of aggrevation.

Thanks guys.....I will work with my outlook and see what I can do. Problem is my e-mail address is important for the business I am in, handing it out is how people get a hold of me. Anyway this problem is not crippling, just bl**dy annoying!

Shane

The very best thing is to have a private e-mail account where you only let friends know it.

I have five acocunts, one for signing on forums, one for transactions, one for pals...etc etc.

I found that clearing the spam inbox and the deleted files box seems to slow things down a bit with regards to spam being recieved. I used to get 120 a week.Sam Price39003.6962847222

With my permanent Earthlink email address, I get probably a couple hundred spam messages a day, and even the spam filters would miss twenty or thirty. It got so annoying that I set my settings such that if an email address wasn't in my approved list, it would be returned to the sender with a note telling them they had to send another email to me requesting to be put on the approved list.

About that same time, I pretty much stopped using that email address altogether. I use Gmail now, which is web-based email run by google, and even though I have started getting a lot of spam sent to my google address now, I probably have only one message a week that gets by google's spam filters and lands in my inbox. Dunno how those folks do it, but they're good! So, I can recommend gmail (visit gmail.com), besides it's free and they give you a lot of space for saved messages.

Best,

Michael
