Four guitar building fanatics assemble on the first tee for their usual 7:30 am Saturday golf game and friendly exchange of building ideas.

Alain says “Man I dunno how much longer I’ll be able to join you each Saturday morning as the wife has latched on to more and more creative ways to extract things from me so that I can make it out with you fellas. To make it this Saturday I had to promise that I would take her shopping for a new bedroom set. This is killing me as I was about to place an order for six gorgeous sets of Brazilian Rosewood.”

Hesh says, “Guys that’s nothing, I had to promise my partner that I would completely gut the old bathroom shop and completely redo it with high end Kohler fixtures by Thanksgiving. This is sure gonna cut into my zoot purchasing and shop time. Anthony I hate to tell you -- you're OM is going to be delayed and hope you don't mind that it's gonna be made from low end mahogany and firewood grade spruce top.”

Casting Hesh a very disappointed look a distressed Anthony says, “You guys are getting off easy. To make it out today, I just cut my wife a cheque for a Thoroughbred yearling that has bloodlines back to Northern Dancer that’ll also cost me huge monthly stabling and training fees before it makes to its first race. All of this has me eyeing my neighbours dying apple tree thinking -- if I cut it carefully, I might just be able to get a 6 piece back of it.”

While all this going on, JJ is standing back listening with a bemused look on his face, while his eyes are darting back and forth from his USGA rulebook in one hand to the other holding his new Watkins CNC’d custom driver with “JJ” inlayed in gold.   JJ finally speaks up to break the tension and says in a measured voice…”I can’t believe you guys. You’re all a bunch of losers.   I set my alarm clock for 6:15 am this morning. When it rang I spooned into my latest conquest and said …”Angelina honey, nooky or golf”. To which Angelina responded…”JJ pack a sweater it might be cold”.

I like the sound of that, especially the way Hesh phrases it.

You know Steve, I am sure there are a lot of people here on the OLF who have asked themselves that question
