OK the 5th and final going right now is the finish on a Martin stle Dread - I am using Behlens Rock Hard Varnish on this one.

Beeswing Bubinga B&S - Bearclaw Sitka Spruce Top with Herringbone Purf and Herringbone rossette. Ivoroid binding, Mahog neck with Macasar Ebony Fingerboard and Headplate and bridge. Grover gold 18:1 open back tuners.

You could see the finished neck in on of the shelf shots on an earlier post along with the Classical build neck as well.

Ambrosia Maple - Praise Leader at a church
Striped Sapele - Phd at Texas A&M
Curley Cherry - Myself

The others are just for fun and I will probably give them away.

I should have all of these in the finishing process in the next week or two and then I am starting another batch of 5.

Thanks for looking

Mike

Thanks for looking,

BillyT, I really like the Bubinga wood, I generally use more domestic B&S type woods, which seem to be easier to sand and bend. I had a few problems with my first sides during bending, trashed a set, and ordered another matching. I took it down to .75 on the sides and spritzed pretty heavy and everything came out fine. The figure and grain lines can be a bit crazy, especially on the quilted and waterfall types and has a tendancy to snap, crackle, pop. I bent at 300. But I have to admit it is some beautiful wood. I got these sets of Bubinga from AC Tonewoods, Ed Dicks, very well priced.

Looking good, Mike. I'm putting the finish on some curly cherry now and hopefully I can show them in about two weeks.
