Does anyone here sell cases? I know our sponsors sell a bunch of guitar related stuff but nobody seems to carry cases!!

I need a few and I'm sure many here would too....

Peter, I went through Access. Very reasonable prices for good cases, IMHO.

I bought 4 and I'm already in need of another batch.

I'm sure you know of them, but still, you can check them out here.

Hope this helps.

Alain, did you order direct or from other supplier. It looks like we have to oder from vendor, but I did not call their number to "find one near me".

Can we "mix and match" from access or buy a few of the same at a time?

I only need 3 or 4 cases but for different models....

Donovan, I think you have to order them directly from access...

Peter, that's a very good question. I too will need to mix and match different sizes. But my guess is, from the good customer care I've had in the past (Thanks Keith), that we will have no problems mixing...

Check with Access to see if they have opened containers (containers: a box of four case) in the sizes you need. If they do then you can mix the cases and still get the luthier's 4 case deal but if you order 4 individual case you pay the single case price for each. this is pretty typical of all manufactures.

Access would definitely prefer to sell them in batches of 4, same type, no mixing.

They did send me a single one on approval, but charged me a considerable markup when I didn't order more of that particular one and decided to keep it anyway.

Thanks Arvey, but they're a bit too pricey!

This is typical of most all case companies when buying at wholesale or Luthier's cost, but if they have open containers Access will allow mixing of those cases from the open containers. They have done this for me in the past. but they will not split open a container to do this.MichaelP39020.6099305556

Peter,
I don't know if these will meet your standards. I've bought several of their
Grand Auditorium cases and have been pleased. Not quite as nice as a
TKL
Elite case but solidly built and I've had no problems with any case I have
bought from him.
Apparently, from what I was told by Drew (my contact man there), these
cases are made by the same folks who make the Taylor 300-400 series
cases and look identical. I've been getting them for $50 each including
shipping (that is as low as he can go). He sells on ebay under the id of
musicpro22. The company is Music Warehouse USA. Here's the link to
their
ebay store:

Sorry, I can't seem to get the hyper-link to function properly.uncleshish39020.6146064815

I understand Peter. At $140 the TKL case are more than a lot of people like to spend. With shipping it ends up close to $200. At the same time TKL lists them for $350. I mainly sell these locally.

I've never used access cases. I see he doesn't have any GA cases listed right
now. I have his private email at home and will forward that to you later this
eve if you care to talk to him via email.

Chris

Is there a dimension list some where for the Access cases'? Also, do they only have the two sizes for acoustic guitars? The Dread and the Small body?
If you go with Access case get the Stage 5
I had the Stage 5 on approval, and saved it for my own OM. But I was looking for cases for a classical, and the built in taper in the padding to support an OM interferes with the mainly untapered body of a classical. I ended up with a box of 4 Stage 3 small bodies, which fit the GAL Rodriguez body just fine.

Nice company to deal with, by the way.

Nah, I spent a long time on the phone with them - they knew what I was after. (unless they snuck one out in the last month or so.)

What about those of us without a business license? I asked at Access, and they said I needed proof of a business license.

Peter,
I have two SKB cases ( their upper end model, if you can call them that). They are the type with the red SKB label not the cheaper ones(#544501). They sell for around $125 and list for over $200 each. I am selling both (brand new) for $185 for the pair. Plus whatever actual shipping is. if you are interested please email me.
Here is a link to Musicians Friend and their current price.   SKB - 18 molded caseDave-SKG39021.6301736111

Dave, thanks a lot... I will check them out and let you know. But I am leaning more towards the Access Stage 5.
