Todd I recently bent the Zootman's waterfall bubinga at .095".

I pre-sprayed the side with Super Soft 2 and let it dry for a day. Next day I misted with water and wrapped it in craft paper. My bender uses bulbs and a blanket...I started the bend when it started to hiss and completed it between 275* and 300*. Cool, reheat and cool overnight.

The sides came out somewhat bumpy and lumpy and reqired a lot of sanding. I think I may have used too much water and next time I'd just mist the craft paper. I also now wait 2 hours after applying Super-Soft.

Anyway, it's completed now and looks and sounds great.

Guud luck!

I have used Bubinga on 3 now and I can't decide if I like lumpy bumpy or crack snaple pop better. At .95 I experienced cracking. At .80 it did well, had one slight crack on a grain line and no lumps. I took the final set down to .75 (Beeswing) and everything went fine, no cracks, no lumps. Good luck

Todd, perhaps the easiest solution is the best?
Hand it to your wife. Let her tackle it.
Since she must be obeyed, the bubinga will have no choice but to comply.

worth a try....
