[QUOTE=Brock Poling]
Sorry I have been away for a couple of days. I snagged a computer at a public library... so I can check in.

Yes, we are going to do online advertising. The 13th fret, several magazines have online newsletters that we will advertise in, Acoustic Player Magazine, Harmony Central (probably) and a few others.

Additionally we will most likely by pay-per-click ad words for the major search engines via the GOOGLE and Overture networks.

If you have other ideas I would be interested in them.

Yes, I have a couple. They have to do with page design, language, and how and when the site is submitted for search engine approval. These all have a bearing. For kicks, check out www.aircompressorexchange.com. While the graphics aren't done to my sitisfaction yet, we have the number 1 ranking on the free side of Yahoo. We are still on the pay side of Google. In my industry, it can cost us a buck or two per ckick so we go up and down according to phone traffic on the pay side and of course, cash flow

So how much does it cost now, and how much after the end of May? I thought I saw these prices but now I can't find them.

I see you found the prices Keith. Thanks for the subscription.

Just to reiterate. Until the end of May the prices are:

$100 for the first year (50% discount)
$37.50 for a custom made downloadable wall paper (50% discount)
$37.50 for a custom made downloadable screen saver (50% discount)

They can just be pay pal'd to me at bpoling AT atomic-mail DOT com for now until we get our ecommerce system wired up.Brock Poling38459.352962963

Looks very interesting guys...Is this a joint venture between Brock and OLF or is it a new entity jointly owned? Or is it a partnership between Lance and Brock completely seperate from OLF? Just the CPA side of me wondering...

From your accounting standpoint... no. The Luthier's Showcase and the OLF are different entities.

However, with that said... Lance does have a stake in this, and I think there will be a very cozy relationship between the two.

Is this site going to me aimed at acoustics and classics only, or will there also be some archtops and electrics?

As it stands right now this is going to be focused MOSTLY at SS acoustics. However, I realize that there is some cross over with builders and it may branch out a little.

The decision was primarily driven by 2 factors : 1) We did not want to spread our advertising dollars too thin, but trying to acheive coverage in lots of media outlets at once. Focusing on SS's first lets us accomplish that. and 2) I (at least on the surface) beleive that buyers for classicals, artchtops, and electrics will all be a different breed and may need a different look and feel from what the initial LS will provide.

However, as we get going and membership grows the plan is to create satellight sites that represent these other areas while maintaining some kind of connection to the group.....
