Comiserations to our Pommy mates for losing the Ashes, again

Hats off to your lot for the guard of honour provided to our Justin Langer. I guess there's not many sports anywhere in the world where an opposing team would show so much respect to a player from another country who happened to be retiring. They knew they were going to lose, but kept their heads up and were gentlemen.

Funny old game Cricket.

Yes Paul congratulations to your boys on a thoroughly deserved whitewash. I think a number of the players in our team just didn't turn up. We should have won the second test, but threw it away, but I think the result was fair in the end.

It's a shame we didn't have Vaughan, Trescothick and Jones out there, but I expect the result would be the same. The only spark of hope I have is that we have a young developing team, and you have a matured, but now retiring, team so the future looks brighter for us.

Without, Warne, Langer, McGrath, Autralia does look like a one man team of Ponting, but we all know that your academy is very good at filling in the spaces, so I expect Australia to come back next time just as strong as this time.

I truly feel that the England players are much better than this, but just didn't do their job.

Oh well, in my world the best deserve to win, and Australia are the best.

Soccer is a game for gentlemen played by thugs. Rugby is a game for thugs played by gentlemen. Cricket is a game for gentlemen, played by gentlemen (despite the sledging which I wish was taken out of the game). So, respect for your opponent is an important part of the game.

Congratulations.

Colin
